Private Investigator Jobs

We are quite often asked if we have any private investigator jobs going. Usually these requests come from people with little or no experience but looking to gain experience in the PI industry. Unfortunately we don’t have the time to train someone. However, we do have availability for self employed surveillance operatives.

You will be required to be capable of demonstrating previous experience and furnish us with references. Please note: We are not in a position to train new surveillance operatives. For active private investigator jobs see here.

There are no preferences as to whether you are male or female, black, white or Asian. All we require are people that can demonstrate good surveillance skills, can act on initiative and can think out of the box. Also as we pride ourselves on obtaining good covert imagery, this is a skill you must demonstrate to us.

Private investigator Licensing

At the time of writing, in the UK there is no Licence required to become a private investigator. This means anyone armed with a camera phone can set up in business as a private investigator. However, we have found that these types usually quickly fall by the wayside as they do not have the necessary skills or training to be a successful PI as the work produced is usually sub-standard meaning repeat instructions from the client are rare and word quickly spreads to other investigation agencies about poor work which in turn cuts off another source of income.

Training

We do understand that everyone has to start somewhere and we can only advise that you take on a surveillance training course. This will teach you all about surveillance techniques. There is a 5-day Surveillance Course we can thoroughly recommend, which is aimed at students looking to enter into the private/ commercial surveillance industry industry sectors. Run by former Police Surveillance instructors that will teach you the surveillance techniques that you will need to become a worthy surveillance operative and help you into this exciting and rewarding industry. You will be advised on what equipment is required and how to use it.
