You never know who you can trust
A couple of months ago I was contacted by a large warehouse company that serves the whole of the UK regarding a malicious email they had received that was sent out to everyone on the network, purporting to be from the managing director of the company and was designed to cause disruption and discredit the company not only to its clients but also to it’s governing bodies and affiliations....More
They had two suspects in the frame that had since left the company under a cloud but of their own will.
After a court order was issued an address was given for where the email had been sent from, a residential address.
We were instructed to establish a link between the address and either or both of the suspects.
We advised our clients that the best route would be checks of various databases and other tools that we have access to and if this failed then a physical surveillance would be advisable.
After extensive searches via various methods proved fruitless we were given the go ahead to set up surveillance at the address from where the email was sent from. After some time monitoring the comings and goings, logging all movements and using photographic and video evidence and following all vehicles that either left or arrived at the address to establish a link, a female was noted to open up the garage of the address, push out a motor scooter, put on her helmet and ride away. She was followed through the town eventually arriving at the client’s place of work!
After the client was given our evidence the female was called into the office and admitted that she was guilty of sending the email and was dismissed. The client thanked us for our services and explained that the female was in a great position of trust, always appeared company orientated, would not hear a bad word said against the company and the revelation came as a great shock to all that worked there. The female had nothing whatsoever to do with the two original suspects who were totally innocent.
